A 1980’s suburban tract home has been transformed with 3 separate projects including a master suite addition, new front porch and a rear yard renovation. Combined the 3 projects result in a one of a kind home as unique as our client’s preferences. Of special interest was how a house designed at the height of a car dependent era reestablishes the front porch prominent in smaller, more walkable, towns. The slow process of transforming a tract home to reflect the unique lifestyle of my client was a great exercise in working within limits to expose the best possible functional and aesthetic outcomes.
